By accessing or using MaccPicks, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

MaccPicks is a community-driven platform for ranking venues in Macclesfield. Users can mark venues they have visited, vote in head-to-head matchups, and view aggregated rankings.

The service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

Accounts

You may use some features without an account. Creating an account requires a valid email address or a third-party sign-in (e.g. Google).

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your credentials or allow others to access your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the service in good faith. This means voting honestly based on your genuine experience of venues.

You must not attempt to manipulate rankings through automated means, multiple accounts, or coordinated voting.

You must not interfere with the operation of the service, attempt to access systems you are not authorised to use, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

Content and rankings

Rankings are generated algorithmically from user votes. They represent aggregated community opinion, not editorial endorsement.

MaccPicks does not guarantee the accuracy of rankings and is not responsible for decisions made based on them.

Venue information (names, categories) is provided for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate but do not guarantee completeness.

Intellectual property

The MaccPicks name, logo, design, and codebase are the property of the site operator. You may not use these without permission.

By submitting votes, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that data for generating and displaying rankings.

Limitation of liability

MaccPicks is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
